LG - 9,800 BTU 440 Sq Ft Through-the-Wall AC - White

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was getting ready to move into a senior apartment complex which had no central air. If I wanted an air conditioner it had to have certain specifications. It could not be a window unit it had to be through the wall or a portable unit. I opted for through the wall but was having difficulty finding something with the sleep requirements that was large enough to accommodate my square footage. I was ecstatic to find this LG which was perfect for what I needed.

This item is returned items! Someone was installed but taken back to return to Walmart! Not band new item! The body of the ac is scratch and air flow mouth is broken cracked! Walmart send me a used item! But charged me full price! Is so heavy to return this item! And it's working!

Bought my second one this week. The first on lasted 9 years, running everyday for iver 10 hours. Routine cleaning would have help last longer. I just did not know I needed more than just the filter cleaned regularly. Liked it so much, bought a new ine to replace the dirty one. Never had an issue until it was too dirty to try to clean. .

I like the unit, not the quietest but not overly loud. Cools the room in south Florida very well. This is a through the wall unit and it does not come with the outside box to cover ac components, that you buy separately and install first. I bought the metal box suggested for this unit and it worked fine. Make sure box has slight tilt and is squared. Screwed box into the walls using a level and used a can of spray insulation all around to lock it in. Finally put a wood trim inside around box to dress it up after ac is in. Outside used plastic trim to do the same. Hardest part was trying to put the insulation strips in the areas of the box and ac as suggested and then sliding the unit in. Could not do it. Insulation kept rolling back in when ac pushed in. In the end I put the unit mostly in and pushed insulation all around it then pushed it the rest in and with a screw driver pushed the rest of the straps in between ac and metal box. Best I could do.

From Ms Cool :This air conditioner fit Perfect into my old sleeve..cools great ,although the power save goes on an off quite frequently.. I couldnt sleep ,so I turn it on when I go in the bed room to sleep cools fast..I turn it off when no longer needed ..I am satisfied ..
