I bought this phone to access the internet via wifi. I have not activated it and do not plan to. It works very well and even handles some websites that my PC has trouble with. It's a good size, easy to use, and I would definitely purchase again. I got it on Rollback for $19.99 and now wish I had bought at least two. In fact I'm watching for it to be back in stock to get a second one for my daughter to play games and watch videos on. I would give it 5 stars, but it is very selective about what can be transferred to the micro SD card. It supports up to 32 gig microSD, but I think the internal memory will be full long before I utilize even half of that space on the SD card.
The phone worked well and for the price I really had no complaints about the features. It is reasonably fast with fair specs. After about a week of use the phone fell off my lap and onto the ground...about a 2 foot fall. The screen was shattered and left glass splinters in my finger when I tried to swipe the screen. For me the phone is too fragile. That's it's only issue.
I bought this after my ipod 3 was well past its time for replacement. BUT that means I had to re-learn how to use Android. That said, I'm enjoying this phone for the most part. For the price, it's kind of a no-brainer. Here are some things I wish were different: 1. The power/reset/sleep button is oddly placed - on the back of the phone (not on the edge or bottom of screen like I'm used to) between two hard-to-feel volume buttons. I mean, WHO ON EARTH thought of that?!?! Doesn't make ANY sense, but I can adapt, I suppose. 2. The first day I used this phone, I was super excited at how long the battery lasted; it was SUCH an improvement over everything I'd known. HOWEVER, that quickly changed. Within just Days, the battery charge percentage drops so rapidly, even when I'm SURE to clear any open apps! I don't know what's wrong but it honestly seems like it's not normal. I may have to contact LG or Walmart/Straighttalk about it. Additionally, charging the phone takes a much longer time with the cord they provided than I would've thought was normal. 3. Make the case easier to open - for example when you go to put your SIM card in or if you want to add a microSD card (for added memory) - there was NO way to easily open the phone up without scarring the plastic casing. This is silly, since most people buy/love their Androids primarily because they offer the flexibility of adding storage, changing batteries, etc. Anyway, for the price, it's a great phone. Will I keep it as a longevity phone? Probably not.
I bought the LG Destiny as a starter Smartphone for my son. Previously I had bought my wife the LG Sunset and she loved it. The only difference I could see between the two is the Sunset is 4G Lite and the Destiny is 4G. The Rollback price from $79 to $Mr. 19 was just to hard to pass up. Both have been very pleased with their LG phones. At $19 I bought another one for my stepson to replace his Verizon phone and change over to Straighttalk.
There isn't anything better you can buy with your lunch money, $20 I'm not reviewing based off the $650 phone. It is : fast, large, well built, loud, bright, sharp, customization, vg battery life and very cheap. It isn't : easy to unlock, can't think of anything negative
