Good little phone. Pretty good internet service, pretty fast downloads. The camera does not take good pictures and the battery seems to drain fast. If you are looking for something basic (but not a dinosaur) then this is a good buy.

Now that I've had the Optimus V for over a year, I am constantly getting messages rejected, saying the Memory is Low. I rarely download. I use only a handful of APPs. So I've tried to troubleshoot. Cleared all Text messages. Deleted any upgrades on everyday apps. I'd love to delete the permanently installed Google apps that I never use, but it's not allowed. The phone is slow moving in FB and Google searches. I rarely can watch YouTube without the video hanging. This phone's got so many good features that I love. I can't believe that now, this low memory thing is so frustrating.

I've owned this phone for over a year and a half. I have left it outside in the rain 5 times, it hits the ground sometimes 3 times a day (back pops off and everything), and left it in my black car when it's over 115 degrees out dozens of times. My optimus STILL HAS NOT FAILED ME! It's crazy! I never expected to love this phone as much as I do. Purchasing this phone was the best buy I've made in a very long time.

I've had this phone since June, 2011. It's worked out very well for me, and is fine for moderate use. There is also a great community of independent developers that have helped keep this phone alive. That's a great thing, as Virgin Mobile hasn't upgraded the OS from Froyo on this phone officially. There are any number of ROMs available for this phone (based on the Froyo, Gingerbread, and ICS OS's), but only if the device is rooted. Rooting is an extensive process that allows the end user to open up more functions, replace the OS for a version with more (or less) features, and in some cases, allows more memory to be available. It also voids the warranty, so this process may not be suitable for those who want to keep it simple. Just make sure you keep your phone insurance active if you do this (or sign up if you don't have it yet). Out of the box, the phone is fine if you do the basic tasks of e-mail, web, phone calls, texting, note taking and playing a few games. If you root the phone, you can increase the processor speed a bit. I don't overclock the CPU more than 806... lowest speed for me is 480 MHz. There's a slight decrease in battery life when doing this, but it hasn't bothered me much. (The lower 480 speed does help reduce battery drain, esp. when the phone is idle for extended periods.) Overall, I recommend this phone if you want something great to use, and with extra possibilities available if you want to root the phone. It's also very pocketable, but I recommend getting a decent protective shell and screen protector to reduce the risk of damage. Not to mention, a shell will help keep the battery cover from popping out unintentionally.

ok well yesturday i had my phone on truck of my car. I forgot about it cause i was getting my niece, nephew and my son in the car. we were going home from the park. I was about a mile and half away from the main road. We were stopped at a red light. When it turned green we took off and my husband started to speed up. About 60 mph my phone flew off and hit the road. My husband seen it break up into 3 pieces well he didnt wanna get it cause he thought it was broke. I made him go back and park in triffic and get it. The battery, back, and the screen were lessthen 20 feet apart. Well the screen IS NOT crack or broke it is still visabile and working. I can use the touch screen stuff and it has few scratchs. Around the egde of front and back and a few dents in the battery it still charges. It hard to believe that how great the lesson turned out. like it works perfect like it did before it fell and the outside rim of the screen its got dents and small small scratches . the back and some of the same stuff and the top of the battery does too. but the sd card still in ti it wasnt harmed in any way. i cant express how perfect this phone is to you in the lesson i told u but i cant express this either but if u are looking for a phone and have the money GET THIS PHONE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am not joking this phone more the prefect for people like me i forgot where it is and drop it all the time.
