I bought this phone for a great price. It was two years from introduction and a year and a half from first availability when I got it (maybe that's a lifetime technology-wise for some people) but this phone works well and has great features, even though some might think the tech might be just slightly dated. For the price and all that the phone does, it's a great value.
I bought this phone a few months ago. Love it! Have one issue which is not good. The port for charging has recessed...ie: when I plug in to charge, the cord falls out easily. If I don't RAM it in, there is no connection at all. When charging, I can't touch the phone because it disconnects at the slightest touch. It seems the internal connection moves or has moved. This is annoying. When I think the phone is charging, it isn't because it has been touched slightly and the connection broken. It is not the charger cord. I have tried three different charging cords for this LG phone and all three have the same issue. I have the warranty but, if I have to send the phone out to be repaired, the warranty is useless because I need the phone for my volunteer work. Other than this very annoying issue, the phone is great although recently has had freezing issues and I have almost all ram and memory remaining. I may have to get it repaired locally and that could void the warranty. So be it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I like big screens. That's number one when looking for a phone. A 6.4" screen with top-tier processor and 6GB of RAM? Yeah, I'll take that. Otherwise it's a pretty plain phone. The camera is ok, design is nice, display is so pretty and customizable, OS is not the newest but still works well. A couple of weeks in and I like it more than the initial impression. The biggest letdown is the camera. Since this was a flagship phone I would expect it to have a better camera. I mean megapixels alone aren't the whole story but only a 12MP main shooter with 'meh' output quality. Now, I do love the 2x optical zoom, love it. And the camera app has lots of gimmicky features, but they're fun, nonetheless.
My son bought this for me as a gift. I'm so in love with this phone. I find myself viewing videos on the phone more than my tablet, which is where I primarily view media. Loving the picture quality and apps that are installed. It's the best gift ever
This is my second LG phone and I keep coming back. My previous phone was an LG V30 and I absolutely loved it. My previous phone finally decided to retire itself, so I immediately went to the V40 because I love LG products. The deal breaker for me in deciding to purchase is the 2nd year warranty.
