I've had the Verizon Dare for around 6 years now, and it is easily the best and most resilient phone I have ever owned. My particular model has had a total of three crises so far: 1. I sat on it and there was a dent in the screen. The dent disappeared within minutes and the screen worked fine after that. 2. The camera stopped working (startup error or something?). Just waited a few days, camera works fine now, though it does have a bit of a startup time, but I'm fine with that. 3. Just recently, a blip appeared on the screen. Rubbed the screen a bit and it disappeared but then the screen stopped working – but only for a few days! And now it works just fine. Can't stop the Dare.
Overall the Dare is a good phone. My problems with this phone is that it is hard to redial and you can not join calls by using speed dial.Overall I say that this is still a good phone to have with a 3.2 meg pix camera.
I personally thought the Dare was a good phone but not excellent because it didn't have anything besides the touch screen that made it stand out. I like the ease of use and the camera takes very good pictures in optimal lighting. The touch qwerty pad was a good feature but it didn't work with me because I had a hard time trying to hit the letter I wanted. Some of the factors that disappointed me was the minor glitches on the phone. I have had the phone for about a year and I have had to get it replaced twice and I'm still having some issues. When I returned it the first time, the problem was when connected to bluetooth earphone, the screen sometimes would go black and not come back until I hung up. The other time, the touch pad lock wouldn't activate and the screen wouldn't go dark. Because of this, my battery would only last me half a day with minimal use. The phone I have now doesn't seem to have those problems but often times the buttons seem to be slow to react. When I try to see the list of recent calls by pressing the send button, the list will not come up and I have to push the end button and repress the send button. Then the list comes up after a little while. I think the problem may be with the OS. These flaws may not seem major, but they do create an inconvenience during everyday use. As much as I like the Dare, I only give it a Good rating because of these flaws.
I was looking for a new phone and this was recommended by a friend. I decided to purchase a Dare and it was great decision.I like the funtionality of the phone and the ease of use for all features. The performance of the phone is outstanding.
I am extremely impressed with the Dare it is very user friendly, all menus are easy to access and you can drag and drop the ones you use most to the main screen of the phone. You can access nine more functions on the second main screen. Texting in very easy and just the right sensitivity. I like the four different contact list choices for the phone numbers and it is very easy to input new phone numbers and names into the phone. The voice dialing takes a little bit of trial and error to get the hang of it but once you have it figured out you can both speak numbers into the phone and recall stored numbers from the phone with no effort. In short there really isn't a negative about this phone. Phone clarity is of the highest quality and you won't lose any calls. the speaker phone function works very well on both ends too. I have had several phones and this is the best one so far.
