Connecting to internet/ apple home is not as easy as you would have us believe. Also keeps dropping off apple home and Siri can't open about 50% of the time.
The product works as advertised and creates the bridge between MyQ and HomeKit. However the documentation that allows one to configure the product without Chamberlain/LiftMaster support to walk through the final setup of this product is greatly lacking. The company should go through in a lab somewhere configuring this device from scratch with Apple Devices with different versions of IOS specified to be compatible, and come up with a support document step by step as I suspect depending on the version of IOS installed, the install process varies in some way. I've seen videos on YouTube, that seem to make the process a breeze, and it did not work. I also suggest that the company find people that are not familiar with the product to validate the installation process they come up with, so that if several people can complete the install from the documentation, then its should be good enough for most, as someone may always have an issue. Once a clear set of instructions are created, post that to the support site, a clear concise HomeBridge setup process and remove any older documents that users could search for that would muddle up the process. And include something in the package so that buyers could find the online instructions.
I can't believe this is not built into the expensive direct drive they sell. When you spend that kind of money it should be able to communicate with Siri and or anything else without paying more. Ridiculous!
it functions but no interaction with Google home. only google assistant and Assistant won't open the door for security concerns, only close. honestly these features should be built in these days. Also at $70 it is too expensive. Should be $30 max!!!
Purchased for HomeKit use as I already used MyQ app. Hopefully future project lines build-in HomeKit capability to avoid buying add-on but there probably was no way to retroactively make actual units compatible with HomeKit. I have two doors. Setup directions could be better but I spent a good deal of time researching prior to installing so I deduct one star. Also works with Google Home via voice-only.
