Littermaid® Plus Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box

This product never shuts off. I have to push the shutoff button, to stop it from constantly recycling. I must clean this box on a daily basis, this product was not made for 2 cats. The plastic disposable,cartridges are way too expensive. I would not recommend this product to anyone . There is no easy way to maintain this product. I've went back to the manual covered litter box because it is easier to maintain on a daily basis. I have made a mistake by buying this product.

Over the past 15 years I have purchased probably 10 or more Littermaid automatic litterboxes. I have also purchased other brands. Littermaid has out lasted and performs better than any other brands I have purchased. The merchandise was received promptly and in great condition.

This is my 3rd one and I can highly recommend them. Even though it is my 3rd, they are great. I do need a new one about aver 2.5 years, but with 3 cats, they are a life saver (and smell saver too). The only downside, make sure you keep about 1/2 inch below the fill line or it will run continuously if one of your cats gets in and "plays" in the litter. I need to change the holder about once a week and it takes less than 2 minutes to do the whole thing.

I bought this product about a year ago, and at first loved the product. It droped little pieces of litter behind but nothing big. Then all of a sudden the fork kept braking on me, it was unable to pick up the BIG litter chunks the first time around and then kept going until it got it, but after trying to pick up the chunks it wore on the wheels on the sides of the fork piece, until the wheels would actually brake off. I think under the waranty I had to request around 3 forks, and now recently had to buy another 2 (that came out of pocket) because the wheels broke again.

This is a great product that I have used for the last 2 1/2 years. The only problem I have had, is when a power surge occurs it ruins the motor and causes the rake to stop all together. Make sure if you buy this product you use a surge protector outlet. I have now learned the hardway and buying my third box. Also make sure you don't add too much litter or it will cause the rake to constantly run and burn up the motor.
