Jet.com did an awesome job and did me a solid on this product. They sent me a new one when the original showed up and had clearly been opened and used. Now I know why the other one was returned. The product itself... if properly assembled... is fine. I guess. Whatever- it's a little tool bench. I think I was expecting more, but that's on me, not on the product. The issue is trying to assemble this thing. And this makes it VERY clear why the original product we received was a used/returned item. This should NOT be difficult to assemble, but Little Tikes must have been in their planning department like "do we want to make this simple?" "No." "Should we make it so there are parts that might fall off because it's impossible for parents to install them properly so kids might choke on them and die?" "Legal says that's fine." "Great- make it." The instructions first say... you need 2 of your own objects to put this together. A hammer (Great, I have tons), and A PIECE OF WOOD (excuse me?). I don't have a piece of wood... but I have, you know, other stuff... so I decided to just try to use that. I don't think it would have mattered if mother nature herself came down and gave me the most perfect piece of wood that has ever been created. I still would not have been able to do this properly. The whole thing is plastic and fits together very nicely... except these 2 metal rods that they want to go through the front and back legs. They're about 12 inches long or so, and they come with caps to hammer on to them. Here's the thing... these caps... do not fit. You have to hammer the pole IN to the cap by... molding the metal inside the cap to fit around the pole. This... is impossible. I managed to KINDA do it for one side on each pole, but the other side? Forget it. My kid will play with it as it is until I decide this is probably too dangerous and just toss it. SO MANY BETTER WAYS FOR LITTLE TIKES TO HAVE DONE THIS. I CAN THINK OF 1000
Both of my kids (15 months and 3years) love to play with this. Was a little hard to put together, but hopefully that means it won't fall apart easily.
This was a Christmas gift to my nephew and boy does he love it! I can say it's truly sturdy for a toy as my nephew is very tough on it and it stays in one piece. All in all a good toy for the youngsters.
I bought this for my grandson for his birthday and ended up returning it for a refund. This toy is a piece of junk. The knobs on the front fall off every time they are turned. Do not buy this toy. I am really surprised that Little Tikes would make such an inferior product.
This workbench was a big let down. After it finally was assembled by hammering and putting the steel rods in with the little end caps, the legs which were properly put in, (husband is a robotic engineer), would not stay in place. If a kid leans on this they open up or close up and then it falls over. There has to be a better way of designing this. The gears are too tight for a little one to spin around, the tools are cheap and the pegs are basically useless. I find it to be a big waste of money and I dont usually complain unless I think something is drastically wrong. Right now the only way to even half way fix this is with DUCT TAPE!!!! This is not acceptable at all. Dont buy this piece of garbage...........look for something with more quality.
