Lodge Cast Iron 3.6 Quart Enameled Covered Casserole Red

I was so excited to finally get a white enamel cast iron braiser. When it arrived it was not white but a very light grayish color. I was so disappointed. I wish someone would make an actual WHITE cast iron braiser that is affordable. I'm taking this back for a refund.

Love this casserole pan. It cooks wonderfully. I've only made a batch of chili in it so far but I can't wait to make a ton of other things like beef bourguignon, paella, fried chicken.

This casserole is gorgeous! I definitely want to note though that it doesn't look this fluorescent in person. It's way prettier! I've been using it for 4 months and have really enjoyed cooking on it. I'm using mine as a skillet. Wiping it out and leaving it on my stove because it's so pretty. If you are expecting non-stick you wont find that here. But be sure to use plenty of oil, lard or butter and you shouldn't have any issues. I'll admit I've had some trouble cleaning it as the butter seems to cook in leaving brown stains. Also, the enamel has already chipped in 2 separate spots. Perhaps that comes with the territory? I just expected it to be a little tougher with just 4 months of wear. It's really lovely though and way more affordable than other brands. Plus, it's an American company so I am ALWAYS eager to support those.

Get this over Tramontina, even if it means you have to soend a little more money. My Lodge one was left on the burner for about or more than 10 minutes on High-fire WITH NOTHING IN IT. When my cousin realized he screwed up, he took the pot off the burner and placed the pot on top of a rubberized mat. Making things worst. All the rubber stuck on the pot. But after few elbow grease and a help of Bar keeper's friend, the inside is all white, and the outside is all shiny. NO STAIN at all. On the other hand, my Tramontina's inside enamel stained rather quickly after few cooking. The Bar keeper's friend couldn't even take care of it. And it's heavier than Lodge. Bottomline, you won't regret with Lodge.

The product looks like a factory second. There are two flaws that are enameled over. One appears to be a chip that was enameled over. Im going to return the casserole dish back to Walmart. I'm extremely disappointed!!!
