The cast iron had a strange grind on the pot and lid and I had to return it. The quality control was not good.

Lodge is a great brand. I have bought many Lodge cast iron pots and pans. Cast Iron is a durable product it will last a lifetime when properly cared for. I have many other Lodge products I want to buy.

I bought this for my daughter-in-law who wants to start making bread. She has used it multiple times and absolutely loves it.

The dutch oven is the perfect size. The cast iron is beautiful and smooth. I like the self-basting lid, however you need to be diligent to ensure the lid is completely dry and both the dutch oven and lid are cooled before storing them otherwise they sweat and you end up with rust on the lid that drips into the pot. I've not experienced this with my other cast iron, maybe I've just been lucky, or maybe the lids design is more prone to it. Overall a real quality product and I'm very happy with my purchase.
