Magic 8 Ball Mattel 80th Anniversary Edition Novelty Game for Kids & Family Night

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ruby Red Magic 8 Ball by Mattel is pretty cool (pun intended) I had a black 8 ball when I was a kid now my kiddos have this cool ruby red one to play with. Over all it's a fun item and works good as a paperweight on the desk that gives you something to waste time with when you need to take a few minutes break from whatever boring task you or your kids are working on, because lets face it this is as much a toy for adults as it is for kids! The one thing I don't like about it, the quality isn't as good as it was back in the day so that is disappointing. I took pics so you can see what I mean, sometimes the phrase doesn't pop in all the way and you can't read it. I find that disappointing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love this magic 8 ball! My son is almost 5. Now that it's summer, we have been using it to decide on activities. Should we go to the pool? "Ask again later." Should we play cars? "Signs point to yes." This and a few hundred other fun uses! It's also been helping us with word recognition (which happens before reading!) as my son wants to look and have us read it. He can even recognize the word "Yes" now! This is such a nostalgic, simple, open ended, fun trip down memory lane for so many of us millennial parents. Lastly, just want to note the color & glitter design is really fun. Buy it!!

The packaging was easy to open, and the product is easy to use with the instructions clearly labeled on the packaging. I love that it's a classic, easy to use toy, but I love the new red exterior, which gives it a new look compared to original magic 8 balls. My kids have had so much fun asking the questions and reading their answers. It's sturdy, solid, and well made and can hold up to many shakes for questions and answers. We will be playing with this toy often for years to come!
