Mainstays 24" x 36" Basic Black Poster Wall Frame

If you are looking for a basic sleek picture frame while on a budget, it’s likely you won’t find a better option than this. Overall, the frames work well and are easy to assemble. I must note that I’ve noticed the edges where the black frame pieces meet aren’t always flush, but it’s not very noticeable. Also, the clear plastic sheet that protects the poster isn’t always exactly the same size as the frame background (however the black frame pieces cover that up).

This keeps your poster protected and looks nicer than just the poster on the wall. The plastic covering is clear and does not distract from the poster. While the materials are cheap plastic, the overall appearance does not look cheap especially since you will be looking at it from a distance. Durability wise, it should stand up for its use case. The low price makes this the ideal frame to buy for posters in your room. I highly recommend this poster frame from Mainstays.

You get what you pay for. It is an extremely basic poster frame, consisting of a cardboard backing, plastic sheet, and four detachable black frame pieces. When I received it, the plastic sheet had small dents all over it, creating very visible marks everywhere. I was able to request a replacement product, but this time, one corner of the plastic sheet was chipped and bent. Is the purchase of a product without flaws too much to ask for?

For the price of the frame I’m happy, since I’m cheap, but overall this frame isn’t very good. The whole process to get the poster in and secure it was an annoyance. My 16x20 poster wasn’t a clean fit inside of the frame as well, it was just a tad big but I just smushed it in. Also not sure if it’s the plastic, or if it’s because the poster is glossy but it gives off a lot of reflections and doesn’t look very crisp.

I bought these online and had them shipped to my nearest Walmart (which happens to be a neighborhood market). This is a great service! The basic poster frame is just that, it is basic. Knowing that, I was pleased with what I received. The only problem I had was where the borders meet they wanted to separate, so on the backside I taped the vertical and horizontal frames to each other. Problem solved! Its a great value for the price and a pleasant transaction
