This recumbent bike is so simple to use. Quality made, and very, very quiet. We wanted something to exercise on while watching television. This bike is great for that. It is not to big, and rolls away when you need to put it out of sight. Even the colors on the bike are nice. Just a well made bike for a GREAT price. It exceeded all of our expectations. LOVE IT!
The seat wobbles, despite VERY strong tightening of all mounting nuts. The junction rail between the front half and the back half is also loose, and clunks when the user moves while using the bike. The electronics package does not perform as expected, and is not explained meaningfully in the 1/2 page instruction sheet. The values of each parameter cannot be reset to zero without taking out the batteries. The electronics instruction sheet was obviously written by a non-English-speaker. We would have returned the bike if we had not immediately NEEDED a recumbent bike for my wife's rehab usage. Due to her broken hip rehabilitation, we needed a bike whose back angle did not cause her to exceed her 90 degrees hip angle limitation. This one appears to barely meet that requirement, although its varies only slightly from "semi-recumbent" exercise bikes. In general, this bike is a disappointment.
My wife has bad knees so her walking for exercise can be limited at times due to pain. When we are out walking or if she is using the treadmill her time is limited to about 20 minutes and the next day the pain really shows up. She found this bike on Walmart.com and wanted to give it a try. I am a DIY kind of guy so it took me maybe 45 minutes by myself to put it together. Simple, simple, simple. The first day my wife tried it out she went for 30 minutes and no knee problems and no pain the next day. We both like it because it is super quiet, easy to operate, and you can sit there, pedal away while reading a book, watching TV, or working on a laptop. The tension settings are easy to adjust and you can tell a difference from one number to the next. The only improvement I think could be made on it is the seat adjustment. My wife is 5'-5" and I am 6'-2" so an adjustment is needed each time we use it. A simple flip latch would have been perfect. It's a great piece of equipment for a very good price.
We purchased this bike for my disabled daughter and the first time she attempted to use it, the bar on the back broke! It looks like a poor weld job because it broke in a perfect rectangle around the welded piece that connects to the frame. Very disappointed and very inconvenienced!
The machine is well built and easy to assemble. Tools are included along with a sensible assembly guide and users manual. The pedal distance is simple to adjust and if the predrilled holes are not right; you can slide the base for a better fit and tighten it to where it's comfortable. The computer is easy to use with a basic display of Time, Speed, Distance, Calories(my favorite) and an Odometer. So, between those settings and the 8 position resistance knob you can go from a nice easy cruise to OMG! Will someone help me get off of this thing! At this price point I don't think you can find a better value; especially if it's on sale with free shipping to home or store.
