Marie Callender's Frozen Dinner, Country Fried Beef Steak & Gravy, 15 Ounce

The new recipe is better than the original. This is my favorite Marie Callender dinner. Contrary to other negative reviews, all components are very good: the steak, gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans. This dinner is always a sellout in my grocery store.

I started buying this dinner when the gravy came in a pouch that you warmed separately. The beef steak coating would get crisp when cooked and it was excellent. I felt it was one of the best frozen dinners you could buy and i told many people about it. When it was changed to having the gravy in with the steak it made it soggy and was not good so I stopped buying it over 2 years ago. I noticed it said new recipe on the box so thought I would give it another try. The new recipe is worse than the last change. Please go back to the original.

Totally disappointed if this is the replacement for the Country Fried Beef Steak, Red Potatoes, & Mac-n-cheese. Hate the change to green beans & mashed potatoes. You had it right the first time. It was the original recipe that interested me in Marie Callendar meals, but now I'll have to search other brands for a similar replacement. My wife is equally disappointed...

The meat is gritty and full of gristle. I have always enjoyed frozen dinners and definitely love country fried steak. I normally buy the Banquet brand and love it. I thought that this brand would be awesome. Instead, after buying 5 of them I am have one left that I wish I didn't have to eat. The meat is horrible. Its so full of strange texture, I'm spitting parts of it in my napkin. The rest of the meal is not as bad but such a disappointment. I have enjoyed the chicken pot pies for years but will not try the frozen dinners again. It was enough to get through the four I bought and wondering how to get rid of the last one. I hate to waste.

Marie Callendar's restaurants always serve great meals, but this particular tv dinner is terrible! The "steak" was tough and sinewy, the potatoes were underdone and sliced into huge chunks, and the macaroni was definitely missing the "creaminess and cheese." The breading fell off the steak and the "gravy," was sparse. This meal is also too loaded with starches, and the seasoning tastes "off." I followed the instructions on the box explicitly, but the end result was a huge disappointment and I fed most of it to my dog, after just a few bites of everything. I know you can do better-perhaps the "tasters," are sadly lacking in what constitutes good cooking and meal appeal, but changes are definitely needed. Thank you!
