On Sept. 8, 1998, with the entire nation watching, Mark McGwire hit his 62nd home run of the season to shatter Roger Maris' single season home run record. He then went on to end the season with a mind-boggling 70 home runs to set the new all-time single season home run record. McGwire finished his 16-year career with 12 All-Star Game selections and an induction to the All-Century team.
