I purchased two of the three foot planters to place on the deck to grow morning glories. The metal supports that would make them usable for window boxes seem very sturdy, but I'm not using them. The boxes are wide enough for the plants to have lots of room to grow. I haven't used the self watering function yet because I'm home all the time and the plants are still small, but it would come in handy if I left for a vacation. I'm very pleased to have these attractive planters.

Most planters require work. This window planter makes my house look alive with beauty. I can change the annuals to fit the season, I am planning to switch spring, summer fall and winter how wonderful. And they are are so well made,, easy to handle/install and last a lifetime.

It's expensive for a plastic planter, and while there's no assembly required, the huge box means extra shipping cost despite being fairly lightweight for its size. There is no mistaking that it's molded plastic and not wood when you're up close to it. That said, it's the perfect solution for my needs. I needed something big and heavy and durable, and since I own a very similar one (black polyethylene self-watering) that's about 1/4 the size, and it has done fine through a few winters already, I'm sure this will last. With gravel, soil, and a full water reservoir, this is a nice heavy impediment, which is what I needed.

We purchased two of the patio planters in black and placed each one on either side of our front door. We filled them with holly plants and a variety of fresh cut greens and large colorful plastic Christmas balls and candy canes to create fabulous and rich looking Christmas decorations on our front porch. They look beautiful and so festive along with the lights and landscaping near and around our front porch. I highly recommend these planters and look forward to decorating with them year round!

I have now had these boxes installed for several weeks and can hardly believe that I have not had to water them, even with our very hot, dry days this August. Since they are black (to match the shutters on the house) and get the hot afternoon sun, I was afraid the water would evaporate but that has not happened. They are very attractive and I am looking forward to many good years of service from them. I did purchase the special soil for self-watering containers at the same time, and I believe that has helped as well.
