MAYTAG MDB5969SDM built in dishwasher

I bought this dishwasher after leaving the Maytag brand for 3 years and am very happy to be back! I purchased a Maytag dishwasher 16 years ago and it was working great, but I had this idea that all my appliances needed to match when I replaced my refrigerator so I replaced a perfectly working (white) dishwasher with a different brand name (stainless steel) and it didn't work nearly as well even from day 1. Fast forward 3 years of unhappiness and that dishwasher just stopped working one day - no warning, nothing and the refrigerator had gone bad a couple of months earlier, but I should've known because the washer had gone 6 months prior and they were all the same brand. So...I've replaced the refrigerator & dishwasher with Maytag products and am very, very happy. The dishwasher cleans very quietly, but I must say you should rinse the dishes before placing them in the dishwasher because depending on the size of the food, it could get burned on the drying unit and make you think that something is burning. Otherwise, it cleans like a charm. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We have had the dishwasher for two months. A little bit noisy and there does seem to be a smell coming from it. The best cycle we have found takes two hours and thirty seven minutes but there still is moisture on the cups. The sanitize cycle takes over four hours. For the price it is OK. This dishwasher is very quiet and the stainless steel inside is a nice touch. The upper rack does is not height adjustable. It's a nice clean design in the front, but in hindsight, I would not have bought one where all the controls and display are on the top of the drawer, as there's no way to pause it to add any items after you've started the cycle. The only way is to open the door, which obviously pauses it, but it splashes water outside.

We could not be more pleased with this dishwasher. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, it is very sturdy and durable. Out of all the makers that had stainless steel tubs, this was the only one we found that also had stainless blades (where the water sprays out). It does a great job and is quiet. Excellent choice!

PoWerFuL Sprayers.Looks great and professional.Love the stainless steel interior.The only problem is: It's almost too QUIET.the cycle times are kind of long but all the newer appliances requiring washing are designed that way to ensure cleanliness and efficient use of the lower water quantity. Hence, the energy rating too.Appliances that cycle also have resting periods during their operation so that the power grid in your area is more efficiently used and load bearing is spread evenly throughout plus this adds to longer appliance life.I have no complaints on this dishwasher.I love the fact they are American made and the Quality plus performance shines through.I own ALL Maytag appliances and very pleased with all of them.ps- Maytag Front Load Washer and Dryer = awsome
