This is the first time I have used a seasoning packet in my crock pot. It was very simple and only called for a few ingredients. I used frozen chicken tenders. I did not add the corn because I don't like corn. I used one can of Mexican diced tomatoes, and one can of plain. I was a little disappointed with the outcome, because it seemed to be lacking a little in flavor. Although it did have a nice mild spiciness to it. I probably won’t make it again. I will definitely be trying other McCormick slow cooker seasoning packets though
I think this is a great tasting product,my whole family loved it and asked me to make it again. I had tried other McCormick products and was very satisfied so I knew this would be great also. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a meal they can set and forget about it. I love my crock pot and now I have a new meal to prepare in it.
Very simple and easy directions to follow. Open packet, add to the list of ingredients that have already been listed in the back and voila, you're done. The tiny packet is enough seasoning for approximately 4-5 pounds of food. Based on the recipe on the back, you would mix the seasoning with 2 pounds of chicken, 2 cans of diced tomatoes, 1 can of corn, 1 can of black beans. In terms of nutrition facts, there are only about 15 calories per serving (about 8 servings per packet) and the only main additional component is sodium (20% of your daily value) per serving. All in all, this is a good product that brings all the ingredients together nicely and in a tasty fashion.
I wouldn't say the Fiesta Chicken Seasoning Mix was a party on my plate, but it was an interesting and different flavor to enjoy on chicken. I served my Fiesta Chicken mixed with pasta and my family did not enjoy it so much. It might have been just the fact that it was mixed with spaghetti, but, I have a feeling they might have enjoyed it better if it was served on a hamburger bun. I like that this seasoning mix does NOT contain caramel color. If I were to try this seasoning mix again I would sprinkle this on homemade French fries. It would be a rich way to season fries besides just using salt.
I was surprised by this seasoning mix. After 20 years of using McCormick products, I did not believe that they could make something that did not taste delicious. But McCormick's Slow Cookers Fiesta Chicken Seasoning, tasted so bad that no one in the house would eat it and I ended up throwing away the entire meal. I expected a bold spicy flavor and got a sweet bland tasting chili flavor. However it was an easy and convenient meal to make. The directions were easy to follow and took about 12 minutes to get in the crock pot and cooking. I opted for the four-hour cooking time but an eight- hour cook time is listed. I wish the meal would have tasted as good as it was easy to cook. I would not recommend this mix to a friend, but I am going to try the other slow cookers mixes just because it was fast and easy make , hoping that any other slow cooker mixes will have a better taste.
