MDV/HC1 Mini DV Head Cleaner (Dry)

I filmed a wedding and sadly a lot of the footage was ruined. I didn't clean the head. After the craziness I called the manufacturer and they told me to clean the head. So I searched for the best value and I found this Wal-Mart piece. I ordered it and they delivered quickly to my house. ( Because I paid higher shipping,….. Grrr…) I cleaned the camcorder and now it works. The image is very clear. I recorded two other events and nothing unexpected happened. This was used with the Canon XL2. The only thing that I don't like is that the instructions don't say when the next cleaning should be. Am I supposed to wait until another event is ruined, then clean it?

Cleaned the heads on my camcorder with a ten second swipe at a third of the price seen at the large electronics stores.

My camera kept rejecting taps. A friend thought maybe cleaning would help. I ordered the tape and cleaned it twice and all my problems are gone.

Video camera got very damp while visiting Mt. Rushmore. Would not record properly. Ran the head cleaner through one time and camera now works great.
