Medela PersonalFit Breast Shields, 24mm, Clear, 87073, Set of 2

My areola stillgets sucked into there a lot, and can make pumping uncomfortable. Well made and gets the jib done, I'd just love to see medela come out with a smaller option. It doesnt seem like this is almost any different in sizing from the 24mm shields

I bought this due to thinking that the standard size was too big. I looked at the sizing recommendation in my breast pump books and thought this size would be a better fit. Turns out I was wrong. Big time. One use and my nipples were bleeding. Eh well lesson learned. Definitely going to return these.

This is the second child I've breastfed and I used all my supplies from the previous child. I have a 20 month old and a 6 month old. I've always known that the 24mm (standard) size was slightly too big. So I decided it was time to get the 21mm shield instead. I have 2 medela pumps and one freemie pump. I love my medela over anything. Unfortunately, i was a little disappointed in the 21mm shield I have just purchased. It is nothing like the standard size. It is shorter in length, a lot shorter, which causes my nipple to almost touch the end during pumping. It also much thicker, making it harder to use and clean. I'm not sure if all the shields have changed but I definitely do not recommend the continuance of this change. It was great before, it wasn't too think or extremely thick. The length was perfect, allowing the nipples to extend freely.

I bought this because I noticed the breast shields that come standard with all Medela pumps was a little too big. This size is a lot better but I kind of wish there was a size smaller. So far this size has worked better for me. A smaller size than 21mm will be better but for now it works.

I tried the average size shield that cane with my pump and it was very uncomfortable because it pulled too much breast tissue into the flange. This size works much better and gives me a better pump output with just enough space for the nipple to move freely without pulling too much areola into the flange.
