Merkts Port Wine Natural Cheese Cheese Spread, 14 oz

This tastes great on crackers. I have also eaten it on bagels. It has a really good flavor. I love cheese and was pleased with this product. They asked me if I had shared it during an event. No, it's a global pandemic, so no events or gatherings right now. I did share it with others by giving them tubs of the cheese, and they enjoyed it and said it was really good. I received this product for a discounted price in exchange for my review.

This was a great cheese that my family went wild about. I put out Merkts Cheese and crackers during a family poker game. I brought Merkts sharp cheddar and port wine cheese . Smooth cheesy flavor, great served with crackers. Cheese was being passed around as quickly as everyone liked it. We finished the one pound container of port wine cheese quickly as everybody loved it. Smooth and tasty, we will be buying this again! I hadn't purchased this product before. Didn't even know Walmart carried it. I ordered port wine because it sounded delicious. And it is. I can eat it right out of the container with a spoon. But the way I like it the most is on a toasted bagel. The warm bagel melts the cheese just a bit and it's like having a delicious deli bagel that I made myself. I usually have this for breakfast. But it's a great lunch too. The flavor is very intense. I bought 4 jars initially so I froze a couple. I was told it might be a little hard and the container could crack if left in the freezer too long. Don't think that will happen here. It's almost an obsession to eat this every day. I love it.

This is my favorite cheese spread, Merkt's Port Wine. It reminds me of growing up and having cheese and crackers with my grandpa for one thing. The taste is second to none, this brand, this flavor... if I could only have one cheese spread for the rest of my life this would be it! The cheesespread is very rich and creamy, full of flavor. It's easy to spread and I love the container as it holds the freshness with it's resealable lid. It's generally used as a snack at night watching tv, just like my childhood. My dad has taken his though and used it as a day time snack as well and with a meal (i'm not sure if it was crackers with the meal or something else- I do think you could put it on a potato though for example and it would be really good). I have had other cheesespreads but when i want the best I get Merkt's, the have a better variety and it just tastes better to me. This is such a unique product. I love keeping the Port Wine cheese on hand all the time but especially during the holidays. It's handy and simple but it feels luxurious. Top it with caramel used onions and chopped fresh rosemary and you've got an awesome spread.
