I have a very steep long driveway and a heavy rear wheel drive car. In the past I have owned performance snow tires which always struggled to get me up the driveway with even a coating of snow on the ground. I have had no problems getting up my driveway this winter with these tires. I even had a day when the driveway was covered with a layer of ice and I feared I wouldn't make it up, but to my surprise I was able to get up the driveway with the TCS only coming on a couple times.
In Minnesota, we get quite a mix of weather conditions. I drive on dry highway, icy county roads, and my oftentimes unplowed side road. These tires make it so I can barely tell the difference between the three. I cannot stop bragging about these tires to people. my wife is sick of me talking about how much I love them. What a world of difference they make, I']m sticking with Michelins.
I'm starting my second winter season in Wi driving on these tires. They are truly amazing. I travel about 200 miles a day in my sales/consulting position and can't let snow keep me from my appointments. With these tires I know I can make my appointments, and better yet make it home safely to my family no matter the amount of snow and ice I must drive through. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen cars loosing control and I feel like I'm glued to the road. If you are like me and need to drive in bad winter weather, these are the tires you want. Unbelievable performance in snowy/icy roads.
My wife and I couldn't believe how well these performed! We put them on a 1989 BMW 325i (rear wheel drive) and went anywhere we wanted! Mistakenly left them on all year; actually performed just fine through the summer too which was unexpected. Lasted a long time considering that decision,
I have just purchased these tires and they handle like a premium tire but they are a snow and ice tire. In wet weather they stop on a dime and hug the road in confidence. I expect they will be perfect for the bad roads in Michigan winter. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I could of gotten cheaper ones, but they sure would not perform like these tires. I'm so impressed with this first Michelin purchase, and I will be buying regular Michelin tires as my original tires wear out.
