I have a very steep long driveway and a heavy rear wheel drive car. In the past I have owned performance snow tires which always struggled to get me up the driveway with even a coating of snow on the ground. I have had no problems getting up my driveway this winter with these tires. I even had a day when the driveway was covered with a layer of ice and I feared I wouldn't make it up, but to my surprise I was able to get up the driveway with the TCS only coming on a couple times.

I have used these tires on my Think City EV on 2-3 inches of slush and ice. I bought 4 new 175/65R-14 Michelin X-Ice Xi2 tires for winter driving. These are a must if you need to drive in snow or ice. I bought them because somebody told me they were "as good as studded tires, without the studs" So far with them I can do pretty well in 3-4 inches of iced over snow. My driveway is not very steep, maybe 2' of rise over 25', The original stock tires will not pull the car up the slope at all. I had to get a good running start to even get it up the driveway. The new tires will pull right up the snow packed ice with still a bit of extra traction. My wife drove the car past some 4x4's stuck along side the road in the ice, so I suspect they are very good solution for someone that wants winter and summer tires with no studs. They are low rolling resistance and have good ride and wear characteristics and will work all year around if necessory. Johnny

My first trip with these tires was over a 5100' pass in a snow storm. Didn't need chains and never felt a slip or slide. Still snowing and still driving with them and feeling safe. I would definitely recommend these to others and buy them again myself.

My wife and I couldn't believe how well these performed! We put them on a 1989 BMW 325i (rear wheel drive) and went anywhere we wanted! Mistakenly left them on all year; actually performed just fine through the summer too which was unexpected. Lasted a long time considering that decision,

Tread ware is exceptional so far. Had them on for a season and still look brand new. In my area we don't get deep snow; rather icy and slushy conditions. Maybe a dusting of snow but nothing to bad. These tires seem to excel in those conditions. Accelerating and stopping abilities inspire confidence and provide an extra level of comfort in the bad weather. We get very wet roads as well and no once did I feel any hydroplaning. Dry road handling is also better than I expected. Predictable tires but you do get some squirm if pushed too hard. Haven't once been stuck. Excellent tire.
