Midland WR-100 Weather & Alert Radio

This is one product you really need in your home..it is very reliable in terms of letting you know when dangerous storms are near your area....easily programed....I am very happy with my purchase of this product and recommend it to everyone wanting to be forwarned when dangerous weather is in your area. Very reasonably priced as well. I had mine sent to my local Walmart and picked it up from there...I got notice it was available for pick up in only four days after I ordered it on line. THANKS Walmart.

It's that simple: It does exactly what it's supposed to do- Alerts you when there is a severe weather warning, watch, or notification. I was a little slow customizing it to my local area, but it wasn't too hard to program. It comes ready to receive all alerts within range with no setup, and that's OK if you want to hear everything. When I had enough of that, I took a few minutes to program it for only the nearby counties, and that works just fine. Neat technology, made possibly by a government agency, NOAA- who knew! A good product, reliable and dependable. The only thing I would change is the volume- at the lowest setting it's still too loud for me. But I guess that's the idea: To wake you up and alert you to a dangerous weather situation.

I purchased two of these radios...just in time for the yearly spring storms in our area. So far, this radio has done very well and performed quickly with alerts..even more quickly than local forecasts via tv, other radios, etc. Is small in size, easy to program, and has all the features one would want in a weather radio.

This weather radio went off for me for the first time since I have had it, last night. Bought this back before Christmas and was wondering if it would go off during severe weather. Well last night it did, and talk about a piece of mind!!!! It was wonderful. I layed in bed and felt some comfort while knowing that this would help me feel safer!! I am about to purchase another one for my daughter. When there are no severe weather issues going on, you don't think anything about having one, but when the severe weather stuff shows it's ugly face, you feel very secure and much safer if you have this radio. Don't go for the more expensive ones it is not necesary. This is the one you want. It's not expensive, and is well worth every penny, and yes it absolutely DOES work!!!! It could save not only your life, but the lives of your family members. Want to add this.... this radio went off before the severe weather alert went off on TV. Now that is a comfort!!! It has battery back up mode also in case your power goes off!!!! Very trust worthy little friend!!!!!

If you want a good, easy to use weather radio, this is exactly what you want. I found one at a Walmart in Oklahoma, and have bought 2 more on Walmart.com...so now we have one for our travel trailer, one for the house, and one for a relative in a tornado alley. It is easy to set what frequency when we travel, the one touch weather is very convenient, size is just right...a great product!
