As soon as I put a hit of force into the bolt it snapped in two and bent the bolt. So I can't even go buy another bolt to go in there. I did notice that the bolt is very short. I have to have it practically all the way screwed in before it touches the spindal. Guess I just have to wait for my bike shop to get more in stock.

you need a right wrench to work with this tool. If you have good wrench tool, then this is good for you and save few bucks

I took a chance at ordering this tool after reading reviews that seemed 50/50 split. For one, I wish it were available at Walmart stores. I think Walmart would benefit by having a full assortment of bicycle tools at each store that carries bikes, especially tools that fit Walmart bikes. These include cone wrenches, this tool, freewheel tool, freehub tool, chain whip, CO2 fill kit, and cable cutters/crimps. Main reason? Convenience. Also, the price of these tools at Walmart is always better than at bike shops, but the quality is never as good. You do get what you pay for. However, I will buy an inexpensive tool if it does the job and lasts a few years. Having said all that, this tool worked wonderfully for me. I had two vintage bikes, a Bianchi and a Raleigh that needed bottom bracket R+R, as well as a 5-year-old Walmart mountain bike. This tool worked on all three bikes. One bike had cranks that were quite stuck, and I wondered if the tool would break on me. I stopped applying force and applied PB Blaster. Returned to the job and got the cranks to pop off. It did it's job and I hope it will continue to do so in the future. I plan on working on many more vintage bikes, and maybe some more Walmart bikes. Bottom line: You can't beat an inexpensive tool that works! Just hate waiting for shipping, Walmart. (Not that it took that long, but consumers like convenience). :)

using a cheisel and hammer only bends sprocket and or pedal crank. Its much cheaper to order this special crank removing tool.
