I absolutely love these wonderful surprise-filled balls! I am an American Girl collector, and most of them are perfectly scaled to 18" dolls. They are exact miniatures of name brands we all buy created in amazing detail. If it were for the contents of the balls alone, this product would get a 5-star rating. However, I have a couple of reservations about the product, too. First, the environmental impact of all that plastic. TWO LAYERS of binding around the ball, which then opens like a sectioned orange. In each plastic-covered section a life-like miniature awaits the obsessive collector (and you WILL get hooked on these things). I don't understand why these could not be made of cardboard and paper, which is recyclable. Second problem: the bogus plastic carts, baskets, and shelves that can also become the booby prizes. The first one that you get is charming, though annoyingly not in proportion to the miniatures. After that, the collector starts wishing he or she had gotten "something real": another miniature, and starts to hate them. They just seem like more waste. At about $6.00 for 5, I now own about $20.00 worth of stupid baskets, carts, and shelving units, which makes me mad.

These are super fun and my daughter and I did them together. The price is a little high for what it is and they are also hard to get.
