[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Minwax Polyshades after many months of research to redo the wood on my stairwell in my 1906 home. At one point, there were renters who were a little too fond of white paint and I had to remove the color of the front of each step, as well as the banister. I used Mission Oak and the results are fantastic! Better than I could of hoped for! Thank you MinWax
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to stain and poly the pine tongue and groove ceiling boards for a camper van I am building out. I used two coats of the pecan gloss and it turned out great!
I bought Mission Oak for my Bathroom Vanity top made out of plywood. I started out with a nylon brush and it was horrible. I reread the instruction to use a natural bristle brush!! So I started over, and I'm on the 2nd coat, and it looks so beautiful! The Natural Bristle brush is Key to using Polyshades.
It's simple to use and it looks exactly like the picture.
Bought this product in order to save a step using poly and stain together on a custom hutch top. Turns out it is extremely light color and takes at least 2 to 3 coats to get color over bare wood. Followed the directions and allowed proper amount of time to dry and sanded between coats. The finish did dry smooth and seems to be a hard finish. The biggest issue I have is the terrible off gassing. It's been two months and the fumes coming from this finish is still as string as first applied. My entire shop and everything in it smells like this finish no matter how much air flow I put into it even two months later. I do not recommend this product for any type of indoor use unless you are prepared for fumes for several months. It's understood that oil based finishing take longer to cure, even up to 30 days but this is extreme.
