Minwax® Wood Putty® Red Mahogany, 3.75-Oz

Avoid this putty. It does not harden. Like so many others, I don't understand the logic of a product that does not harden on a wood project. I tried to use this on custom wood cabinets and after crafting a one-of-a-kind drawer front broma beautiful blue beatle-kill pine, there was a gorgeous red knot with some large cracks, perfect for the mahogany color putty. After filling the cracks and leaving the board overnight to dry, I was shocked to discover the putty still soft. The knot is on a drawer front, a high touch piece of wood. How can Minwax expect this product to be viable? The worst part was having to dispose of a masterpiece cut of lumber and start over. It cost me money, and time. But mostly it caused my heart to ache because what should have been a project defined by Minwax, was instead ruined.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is my go to for filling in on wood projects. Fills in great and fries fairly quickly. I would tell others to use this product. If I run out I will go get more for future needs. Definitely a well made item

I would not have purchased this product if I knew it was non-hardening. Unfortunately I did not have a magnifying glass with me to read the information on the container. Easy to put “non-hardening” on the lid in larger letters but I guess that makes too much sense.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a new homeowner of a older house plus someone who refurbished / repurposes furniture I've tried a large assortment of wood fillers and putty, Minwax Wood Putty is now my universal do-to. Easy to wipe with a shop towel this putty dries supper fast and sands to a smooth easily paintable finish. Highly recommended.
