I love several things about the Misfit Shine Speedo: 1) it's waterproof, 2) I don't have to charge it everyday, 3) the band is replaceable, 4) it looks good. There are a few things I don't love about it: 1) the face tends to get scratched, 2) it can be easily lost (I'm on my second), 3) although the app is easy to use, it's not as easy to use as other fitness apps. Overall, I will recommend this product to friends, especially swimmers.

I bought this for my wife. It is not very accurate in tracking distance or steps which were two of the primary reasons I got it for her. It will tell you a 3 mile walk was only a little over 2 miles. At least it wasn't super expensive.

I like the concept of it. The app is easy to use and read. But while swimming a 2 hour practice it only logs about 20-30 minutes. My son is on a very competitive HS swim team. When he is done practice the app tells him to swim another hour. I am not sure what is wrong with it.

I thinks it's great but would have like to see better instructions when I received my Shine. My view is morebis always better.

I have the first speedo misfit shine, and I am ok with it. The main reason I got it is swimming, and it does a fairly good job at it. If I wear it in my pocket, it even counts the laps I do with a board. The first battery it came with needed to be changed after less than three months. The new one shows a third gone after less than a month. Wasn't it supposed to be six months? I'm not entirely happy with it because it has the tendency to come off its hand-band's cradle. I had to dive to the bottom of the pool a few times to retrieve it, as well as fish it from inside my gloves, and pick it from the floor a time or two. I expect I'll be loosing it one day and never see it again. I noticed other users have some sort of a thingimagig that holds the back of the hand-band cradle from changing shape when a sleeve or a hand paddle touches it, or puts a bit of pressure on it. That is what makes the shine come off. Oh, well. It would be nice if it also showed, really showed the time, not the guessing of illuminated dots. Since it does not always ends up on the exact and only position it needs to be to guess correctly, particularly when one moves around, that time feature is useless. I also wear it for steps and sleep as well, while I am still wearing my fitbit. I've noticed that the sleep time is not reliable. Not only compared with the fitbit, but just looking at the watch and knowing when I went to sleep and when I got up. If I watch tv, or read, in a reclined position, with little movement, and then I go to sleep, it consider the time spent watching or reading as light sleep. Sure, it can be said I was resting, but sleeping? Steps are comparable, +/- few vs fitbit. I agree with other commentators, it does have a pleasant design, and I like the necklace, and the fact that it can be worn in so many positions, but nowadays, I wouldn't buy it again. My next one needs to show the time, count laps, steps, and sleep as well as looking good. So I'm looking
