Moon Dough Magical Molding Dough Barn Playset

My 5 year-old got this for his birthday and it turned out to be his favorite gift! We checked out the reviews before we opened it up and let him play with it and were worried about the "mess" factor but gave in to his pleas and gave it a shot. After 5 mins of parental assistance he was able to use the molds to make perfect (and quite creative) creations! As for the mess, well, it was the same as any other compound he's used....but cleaned up very easily. When we saw the low price on this site we bought 2 more for when his friends come over!

my daughters wanted this because it was the new thing out... they have always had playdough... but when they got it they weren't thrilled and to this day have used it once. it is very grainy n sandy, literally! u will have a hard time keeping it off of the floor and the kids didn't like that it didn't really 'stick' to itself... like playdough.

GREAT TOY! After reading the other reviews, I had to post one. I think if you buy this toy thinking "playdough" you will be disappointed. You HAVE to buy this thinking, NEW, FUN item. As Moon Dough is a uniquely all it's own type item. I also feel Moon Dough is better for ages 5 and up. I think those younger would have trouble with the item. It is different and is worked different than play dough. And due to the need to pay attention to what and how you work it, it requires a bit of a higher level. We also use toothpicks with the molds and I would not want a younger child using a toothpick. I have a 5 year old and 9 year old who LOVE this stuff. We have NO issues with mess. Much a larger issue of mess with playdough. With the moon dough we just sweep it up. Also, no more wasted product. Our playdough was always left partially opened...and then dried out. This don't happen with moon dough. Goods stay together just find as long as you pack it well. I can not touch or use chalk. This does NOT feel like chalk. It has more of a silky feel to it and does not pull moisture from you like chalk does. We are greatly pleased with this product and we known here there will be no more money wasted on playdough. it will be moon dough all the time here.

My (almost 4 year old) son wanted this item for Christmas. He had seen the commercial on Sprout several times and even I thought it was kinda cool and fun. Well, the concept of making little cute farm animals is cool but this is not the way to go about it. First of all, the moon dough makes the BIGGEST MESS! It leaves little crumbles everywhere. It's so bad that it makes PlayDo seem heavenly. Obviously my biggest complaint is that the moondough crumbles and is messy, but also, the little animals come out of the barn looking like little faceless dough balls. This was a very big disappointment!! I am gonna go buy my son a new play dough toy. I would have rather flushed the money I spent on this down the toilet. Best wishes!

I should have read the reviews before purchasing this product. Moon Dough is sooo messy. It crumbles as soon as you touch it and winds up everywhere. I will stick with Play-doh.
