I received this as a gift. Unless you are sitting next to an outlet at all times and never moving from room to room, it's useless. It has no backup battery option, so if you lose power you're out of luck. The fact that it isn't portable is annoying, but it also takes up the entire outlet. Unless you have tons of outlets or never plug anything else in it's extremely inconvenient to use.
Is directly to a/c.. is perfect to listen no cordons no battery good sound.
