SBT-ESU25 Hard Drive Enclosure

They actually sent me the wrong one, it was supposed to be the black one but sent the silver model instead. Exactly the same but silver and no vinyl cover. Would recommend this item if your old computer dies and has an IDE hard drive this is the saving grace to recover your pictures and data.

I have bought other Sabrent drive enclosures that were well made and worked flawlessly but this one for what ever reason is cheaply made and windows 7 won't even load the drives for it. The hdd is good but the enclosure is not.

I look at the box and specification, it's for 2 1/2 inch drive enclosure. I was assuming for laptop sata drive. the interface in the enclosure was for the IDE drive. Next time read the specification oherwise don't buy.

I bought this to accept a smaller (20gig) HD I got as a result of upgrading my laptop to a bigger HD. I had previously gotten a similar device from CC a NextTech which was much nicer but more expensive. The Hd fit in better than the Micro Pac but it required more work to install and remove if you needed to. Its true the HD will jiggle a bit (but not much) in the Micro Pac case and the screws to fasten the case together are small but all things being considered for the money its perfectly ok and given that my usage of this HD will be minimal this case is fine.

The description led me to believe I would just insert the drive (an existing drive). This wasn't the case. The instructions had me formatting the drive. I didn't need the enclosure for a new drive. I in the process of returning this product.
