The air rocket I thought would be great for kids turned out to be a flake. The setup was not hard but the charge took a while and it says that soars up to 200 feet, not true at all. It barely lifted g. Kept trying to make it work but was a bad rocket to purchase. The kids thought that they would have a big show and was excited to be very disappointed. It would have been a good science project if only it worked. By it being foam- it was good to use indoors because it wouldn't be able to break anything. The designs on the rocket looks good and looks life like to get the attention of kids, I guess the rocket was educational for the kids and the tips of the rocket was foam so it wouldn't hurt the kids if they would have come in contact with them. Overall the power rocket did not have any power and I will not recommend this rocket to anyone.
This product has almost no assembly required. Our 8-year-old is able to assemble it on his own and spends hours "blasting off"! It can be used both indoors and outdoors as the nerf tips make it truly indoor friendly. The lighted ends of the rocket make it extra fun for my toddler and I love that he can turn it off easily on his own prior to putting it away. And the durable foot pump makes it enjoyable as the kids can stomp and jump on it to change how high the rockets go. Great way to introduce STEM to toddlers! We found it to be very educational for kids who luv to learn about space.
Our home is quite near the coast in Central Florida, and the rocket launches from the Kennedy Space Center on Cape Canaveral have always been a presence in our lives. After all, when a major launch is scheduled we all sit our on the back patio and watch the rockets go up. This motorized Power Rocket was a great way to provide a hands on learning experience for some of my Great Grandchildren, with a few of the Grandchildren helping out as well. The setup was quite intuitive and easy and was handled for me by my 8 year old grandson (once we got through the debate of which set of graphics should be applied to the rocket itself) Charging the rocket was an easy process using a cell phone charger power block. The Rocket set comes with a proprietary USB charging cable, but it must be plugged into a power source which is not included. The very first charge took between 10 and 15 minutes. A red indicator light on the rocket glows red while it is charging, and the light turns off when the battery is fully charged. The biggest challenge for us was waiting for a calm day, with no wind to launch our rocket. There was still a very slight breeze and the rocket did it's best to make it to the roof of our house. But fortunately, it came down about 10 feet short. The next flights were done at a local park and this motorized rocket entertained the kids for quite a while. We are going to be launching it again next weekend when all of the kids are back at the house. My job will be maintenance this week as they voted to change the decal set to a different color and design. (LOL).
I felt like this was an easy to use science-type item that didn't require a lot of work. A lot of Nat Geo's stuff ends up being a lot of work or has a lot of parts etc. This was perfect because all you had to do was charge it, tuck the wings and push the button to enjoy. My 7yo was excited and it was easy enough for him to operate on his own.
I got this for my 11 year old daughter but my husband has enjoyed it as well. It charges with a USB cord that is included and takes maybe 20-25 minutes to be fulled charged. It comes with 3 sets of decals for decorating your rocket. It has 3 different modes low, medium and high. The high is suppose to be around 200 feet and I'd say that is fairly close to how high it goes. Make sure you are in a wide open space clear of trees, power lines...etc it goes straight up and then kind of veers off a little. We take it to a softball field and that works great. Overall this is a pretty cool toy
