The only button on this thing doesn't seem to do anything. Sometimes you can't turn it off, sometimes you can't turn it on. Held the button down for almost 7 minutes and all it did was cycle between the netgear and 5g image. Battery charge level doesn't seem accurate, since itll just shut off at 70% and say it needs to be charged, even though it's plugged in. Leave it, what i think is turned off, and plugged in to come back hours later and it's only 2% charged? There's no manual way to wake it up and sometimes it takes 5 minutes or more of trying to connect because the wifi won't wake up, and you dont want to restart it because the power button issues. This is close to garbage.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] repeatedly had to factory reset every time it was turned on and would not show available for devices to connect until a full reboot was completed Once connected it would drop every device repeatedly. Used with the additional antennas because it would not connect to T-Mobile otherwise. Will pursue warranty replacement.
I needed a replacement jetpack for two others that had given up the ghost due to battery issues in the past few years. This unit operated on battery and direct plug-in power sources so I decided to give it a try. Upon receiving it I simply inserted my old sim card into this new unit. My carrier recognized it and a few clicks later I was in and ready to go. Changed out all the old wifi passwords on cameras, computer, phones and TV and all went well. No battery to keep charged, settings easy to configure and change and the admin settings are complete. There is one issue that keeps cropping up and that is that the signal sometimes drops out. Sometimes for a moment, sometimes for 15-20 minutes. Not sure if it is the carrier signal or the jetpack
Purchased for use while travelling. Used on multiple wireless carriers, strictly on pay as you go plans. Set up with the carrier(s) of choice and simply switching the sim cards out as needed. Some locations require the use of a cellular booster, but that is location specific, not endemic to the device. Wifi signal is adequate for use inside and within a hundred feet or so of our RV. Battery life seems adequate and as advertised, so far. We can easily charge the device or run it without the battery while using shore power, inverted solar power, or just 12v. Quite happy with our purchase as we have the flexibility of switching between lesser expensive 5G mobile data plans, based on coverage area.
Bought this for my new boat to have internet access anywhere. Works great can handle all of my computing needs while streaming videos to the smart TV.
