The Neutrogena T/Gel Shampoo works almost immediately, giving the scalp a deep cleanse without being foamy. The texture is liquid and spreads easily, and the packaging is simple and sturdy. The scent is strong and the price has increased, but the results are excellent.
I can only use T Gel therapeutic shampoo or my scalp will have a crust on it. Whatever other shampoos have in it I'm allergic to or causes the reaction on my scalp. This is the only shampoo that will not cause my scalp to do that. I've used it for many years and I'm thankful for it.
This shampoo is a lifesaver! I developed these super itchy red patches on my scalp and I had no idea what to do. I didn't have dandruff and my scalp was just really oily. My dermatologist said to try head&shoulders, but it didn't relieve the itching. I looked up the symptoms and a few websites said scalp psoriasis, and to try T/Gel. It stopped the itching within 2 washes and the reddness went away after about a week. I use it pretty much every day.
Lathers well. Does not dry my hair out. The coal tar smell has been masked expertly with a pleasant fragrance. There are no negatives for me with this product.
I have been using a different product for my scalp psoriasis, but my scalp is building a tolerance to it so I decided to buy the TGel shampoo. It's helping. My head itches less and there are fewer psoriasis flakes. It's not perfect, I still experience both, but it's better than it has been in a while. The smell of the shampoo isn't pleasant, but that's to be expected with tar I suppose!
