The remote had the battery included and installed in it (good). It works, but you have to point it directly at the IR port and not be too far away. Of course, it serves the purpose of not touching the camera to trigger the shutter release. Good for tripod shots, such as night time shooting. The biggest problem is in the Nikon camera's software design which forces you to go into the menu and set up for a remote shutter trigger for every picture.

I've used it a few times since it came in and found that it sometimes doesn't response as fast as I would like it to.. But will wait and see how it goes..
