We have bought a couple different gem dig kits and this one was by far most disappointing. The gems were extremely small and and very little effort had to be put in to finding them. For younger kids that makes this kit maybe more desirable. Our 7 year old was done in 10 minutes. It appeased to the instant gratification but she was disappointed that her gems were so small compared to ones her sisters had from other similar priced kits.
My son was very excited for this and had been asking for it for weeks. We finally got it for him as a reward and excitement was very shortly followed by sadness. The stones are all concentrated in the very center rather than scatter throughout the plaster brick. Instead of slowly chipping away and finding stones as he went along, he spend many disappointing hours of finding nothing until eventually reaching the very center. Then there were 10 very small stones all in one place. There should have been 11. Poor quality control. The product is not worth the price.
It was okay, you do find rocks of course, but ours didn't have that many in there at all. we searched every part of it.
Not a single gemstone inside nothing but dust and rock
I bought this as a birthday present for a 7 year old. As far as I know she has enjoyed it.
