I have only experienced the lids cracking on these if I put them in the dishwasher and run them on the hottest cycle. The lower temp/easy wash I think it is on my counter top dishwasher, doesn't cause this. I usually just hand wash them anyways because we use them so frequently. I just wanted to clear that issue up for everyone. These are the only cups I can find that my son doesn't manage to chew up. The silicone ones are destroyed upon first use. He chews through the spouts of the cheap plastic ones. He'll even chew through the cup itself which is why these insulated ones last. He can't chew the spout off since there really isn't one and he's chewed through the outer plastic on these but never the inner one. I originally started buying these when my son was younger because I'd heard that continued use of a nipple could impact speech abilities. Now, I keep purchasing them because my son has autism and often doesn't place his cup on the table like he's supposed to. I know it's not supportive of his delayed development issues but, I can't watch him every second of every day and I'm just tired of having to run the carpet cleaner over our tired worn out carpet. There's only so many spills furniture can take too. The only thing that would be helpful for me is if they were more affordable. I've cut back on purchasing them for this reason. We used to have 10-12 cups around the house but now we just have 5. As for the review stating that there's not enough of a description about how the cups work, I fail to see how that is even remotely relevant. They don't leak, plain and simple. If you're that curious why don't you just buy one and find out?
My 15 month old loves these cups. We have 4 of them. She uses them at daycare and at home. She is very rough with her cups and these are one the few that do not crack when thrown and leak very minimal. Generally it only leaks the milk that is between the valve and opening. We have had them for about 6 months. It took her a few tries to get the hang of drinking out of them. I removed the valve a few times to help her realize where the milk comes from.
Not- Repeat Not- 12 months and up. 18 months and up.
Spill free! Easy to clean
These cups do not leak. highly recommend.
