OFF! Clip-On Mosquito Repellent Starter Kit

I have had all versions of this product from when they were first released until now. The first version was awesome. Long Battery life, durable, good strong motor on the fan. Teardrop design to keep it on your belt. 4 batteries made it last all day/night. The second generation was okay, but they fell off your belt way to easy. Cheaper clip can break. swivel design was a gimmick than made it harder to keep from falling off. The new round model are terrible design wise. They still repel the same it seems, However, The clip part is weaker, and one broke first use. cheaper fan motors. If you sit in a camp chair, it will either break off your belt or fall off. Either the oblong or round versions don't last as long on batteries. Bring back the Original Model. It didn't have the swivel, and because all of the weight was below the belt hook, it didn't fall off. When I go camping, I am out for a long time. The batteries in the new ones need to be changed more than once a day which is annoying. The new refills, even though they say work with both older models, frequently don't allow the fan to turn on without some messing around with it. BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL MODEL PLEASE!!!!

I loved the old ones - last season & before. I know that the refills for the new round style fit in the old style, but they are NOT AS EFFECTIVE as the previous ones. (I don't care about the size or shape) I don't know what has changed - an ingredient, or quality or quantity of an ingredient - but something is different. With the old refills, I turned it on and within 10 minutes, mosquitoes did not come near me. I am a mosquito magnet. I am also allergic to fragrances and chemicals. These have always worked wonderfully, without odor. I loved them and recommended them to everyone. But these new refills, even with a brand new refill and being on for an hour, mosquitoes are landing on me. I am very disappointed. Please bring back the OLD FORMULA!

I feel like I get bit by mosquitoes more than the average person - they love me! I spend about 2-3 hours outside with my dogs daily so I have to use insect repellent. I hate covering myself with DEET and other repellents, so I was excited to try this product. I had read a couple of articles about the active ingredient in the Off Clip-ons, metofluthrin and it has been proven to work, so I picked one of the older, smaller models up. I can't believe how well it worked! I went from getting 10-13 bites a day to zero. I was a bit concerned when I read that if you move you have to wait a bit for the product to build back up again. since I walk when I'm using it, but I have not had an issue with protection so far, It's a bit bulky, but super quiet and really is the best repellent I've ever used, but I will say that I was a bit confused when I went to refill my unit and saw that the new refills aren't tear drop shaped and don't have the handy fluid reservoir that indicates how much you have left. I thought I might have accidentally broke or threw mine away before I read another review that indicated this. I feel like Off! should probably make note that the new refills are different. It's also going to be tougher to gauge how much longer I have left to use each refill, so I took a point off. I really hope the refill works as well as the original! I'll update my review if it doesn't!

The old refills for the "teardrop-shaped" clip on AND the refills for the round shaped clip on HAVETHE SAME UPC, and they're completely incompatible with each other. The package color scheme is different, but to reuse the UPC on a different product makes no sense. Granted there are subtle hints on the package that show the 2 styles, but some of us sight-and-shopping-time-challenged older shoppers may not readily notice these differences right away. Finally, I seriously doubt that the new refills work as longas the old ones, as the old teardrop refills had a fluid reservoir, but the new ones do not.

I have had this new version for months. Maybe I'm just brain dead, as my husband is too, but we can't even get the top off of it to put the insert in! What!!!!! I just keep using my "old blue" and I guess I'm protected because there are no indicators on it to know whether the insert is empty or not. Help!
