Olympus 2GB Digital Voice Recorder with LCD Display, Silver, DP-201

I bought this recorder after reading the reviews. I was looking for a unit that was not expensive but still had the features I needed. One thing I read was that some people had trouble figuring out some of the features due to the instructions lacking in clarity. I didn't find that the case. I just read them carefully and messed with the recorder for about 15 minutes and had its workings down pretty well. I think it is a good recorder for the money

I gave this as a Christmas gift for my husband who sings in the church choir. He had been using cassette tape recorders which gave him no end of trouble. They no longer up grade them. He loves the size and ease of use of the Olympus. As a man in his late fifties he appreciates that and being able to read the screen easily. He was surprised at the quality of the sound and has already been approached by another choir member about wanting to purchase the product. The only negative is that even in low sensitivity some background noise can be heard, but not enough to distract from what needed to be recorded. Don't know about battery life yet. If you don't care about bells and whistles I would recommend this product which is also at a good price.

I use this to record my guitar and banjo for practice purposes. It works as well as I need it to; easy to operate; hard to erase tracks by mistake; sound is okay, and better with phones. I recommend it.

I was pleasantly surprised at how clear and loud the sound was on this little inexpensive recorder. It's easy to use, compact, and has more than enough recording time for my needs. Well worth the money.

This is a great little recorder. I will say that I am a mom that needed it for IEP meetings. I am not a business person that may require more recording memory and other fancy stuff. It records crystal clear- most important for me. The functions are pretty simple - directions could be written better- but all in all it took about a 30 min to learn all the functions. It is small and lightweight - a bit of a cheapy plasticy feel-but thats fine. I would highly recommend for basic recording.
