[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had never used a rotary cutter before trying this one. I don't sew or quilt or find myself cutting fabric or leather or other materials very often, but I do make purses, pillows, and other accessories from denim. I usually use a pair of strong Fiskars shears to cut up old pairs of jeans, but that's a lot of work and it's hard on my hands. This rotary cutter by Omnigrid makes the job so much easier! The blade on this tool is super sharp! You definitely need to be careful with it to keep from damaging it or yourself, but it really gets the job done. The blade is made from tungsten steel, so it's very durable and long-lasting. There's no button or other mechanism needed to expose the blade for use; you simply press it against your fabric and go. There's a safety guard that automatically covers the blade when not in use, but it pulls back to expose the blade when the tool is pressed against a flat surface. This cutter is suitable for righties and lefties alike, so virtually anybody can use it. The handle is ergonomically designed and comfortable to hold and use, and it has a textured grip for safety. I haven't had to change the blade yet, but I expect it should last a long while, and it's easy to remove and change. While the cutter can accommodate blades from any brand, apparently, I will stick with Omnigrid because it makes such short and easy work of the denim I need to cut. This is a fantastic tool, and I definitely recommend it to crafters and quilters!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great tool to have for working with fabric. I have used for making of our seasonal holiday costumes. I've also used for my crafting projects. Cuts with ease. Perfect tools to add to me crafting kit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a woman of a mature age, using scissors can be quite challenging and uncomfortable. Especially when my hand hurt. Being left handed isn't a factor. As I mentioned, my hands hurt sometimes. This has caused me to drop what I'm holding. I don't have to worry about injuries as the blade retracts. I'm just getting back into sewing and haven't had any issues achieving an even cut, regardless of the heavy weight. Cuts the 1st time. Doesn't require much pressure for the cut, which is ideal.
