OnGuard 6' Coil Cable Combination Lock

When purchasing this item it seem to be a great product. After getting it home, I attempted to change the combanation and thats where the problem started. After confiring with OnGuard CSR, I was still unable to change combanation. With regreat, this item was returned.

This lock is everything I need. The combination works quickly. Wraps around any object I am locking my bike onto. I bring a very small flashlight (you can place in your pocket) to see the combo numbers in the dark. The lock wraps around my bike when I am in transit. I am extremely satisfied. I am buying other Walmart items for my bike.

Wondering about combo lock security, I pulled at a competitor's identical-seeming lock as I turned its dials. A "give" was felt at some numbers--and pop! It unlocked! The OnGuard lock could not be picked. Bravo. --- The cable has excessive springiness, and threading the cable through a frame and spokes is irritating and tricky, as the cable keeps coiling back on itself. Too much. --- I wonder about strength of a 12mm cable if attacked with bolt cutters. Need information. Do tests exist? And what about the lock--how is it against bolt cutters or hammers? The long (6 feet) of twisted cable allows connecting the bike to a stable item, and it and the lock give decent security. I will use it (and a heavyduty OnGuard key-type cable--very tough).

Like the reviews before me the storage clips for the locks are a great idea. First time for me to purchase combination style. Glad I did, easy to program and tumblers work well. I bought two lock set to string together if extra length is needed. Great product and received items in just two days regular freight.

I feel confident using this lock to keep my bike safe when commuting. The lock comes with a handy piece to attach it to your bike. However, I cannot get the lock to fit completely in the attached piece. So, I carry the lock in a carry-on bag while I am commuting just so it doesn't get lost. Would have been 5 stars if the lock would fit in the attached piece.
