This antenna amp works very well. Boosted my scanner to my small TV/VHF/UHF yagi antenna. I get signals up to 50 miles away with clear signals no static or hissing sound in the background. Aircraft, VHF, UHF, GMRS and FRS and ham radio repeaters come in crystal clear. Awesome! Very Pleased! 100% Perfect!
Worked for me. I use a pretty good internal antenna to watch local stations. One station is hit or miss. Using this amplifier, the marginal station comes in steady. Allowed me to watch a specific football game on Saturday. On a stronger station, the signal strength reading on my DVR went up from 40% to 60%. Total number of stations I can watch went from 6 to 9.
I've been in the audio video industry for over 30 years and own a dbmv signal strength meter to measure tv broadcast signals before and after amplifiers and coax and splitter loss. This so called amplifier only amplified my bad mood. It only boost the signal .5 dbmv at best. it also has no headroom. So In laymen's terms if your getting strong signals from some stations and week from others the strong ones overwhelms the amplifier. .5 dbmv of signal gain is no gain past a 2 way splitter with a loss of 3.5 dbmv. Not to mention cable length loss. Total waste of money and time. For $12.00 most people won't waste their time returning it or think they connected it wrong. Just take your $12.00 and throw it out in the yard. It takes less time and energy.
I am a television repair technician.I coupled this with the GE attic mount antenna that Walmart also sells( which I mounted outside).Outstanding.Boosted me from 15 channels w/14 pixelated ones to 32 crystal clear ones. The key here is ANTENNA AIMING and YOU HAVE TO HAVE A REAL ANTENNA.The 10 dollar pieces of garbage antennas are a gimmick.Think OLD SCHOOL on your antenna choice. The more metal the better. TV stations still broadcast an analog radio wave just like from the 1920's.The only difference is the INFORMATION they broadcast, which is now digital instead of analog INFORMATION.Theres nothing magical thats changed with the actual radio wave itself.Think 1970's watching the Brady bunch with rabbit ears.If this amp doesnt work for you,its not the car,its the nut behind the wheel.BUY A REAL ANTENNA and AIM IT PROPERLY.This amp is the icing on the cake, but you have to have some kind of signal first. This is a GREAT antenna: https://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-Pro-Outdoor-Attic-Mount-TV-Antenna-70-Mile-Range-VHF-UHF-Channels-29884/557144300
Purchased this yesterday and it only took a couple of minutes to put it on the TV incoming cable. Love it. My non-amplified GE Pro Yagi style antenna was picking up about 30 channels from the Las Vegas towers about 56 miles from my house in very rural Northwest Arizona, but they pixelated and cut out so much that most of the channels were not worth trying to watch, maybe 3 were. With this inexpensive little amplifier I am now are able to watch all 30 channels most of the time. Of course there are cell towers in between that do cause some disruption occasionally, but I can now watch all of my favorites, anything but the talk gossip and alleged "reality" shows. My Roku paired with my antenna (for more than 6 years now) I have never missed satellite and their massive bill with their marketing dept packages choosing what I wanted to watch. That was the only available option out here in the boonies, or so I thought, and I was so wrong. Thank you WalMart for providing great inexpensive alternatives.
