Slow to load games. Doesn't power on consistently. Buttons are not recognized.

I am one of those people that never takes the time to write reviews (good or bad) but on this one, I have to! I should have gone with my gut feeling before I purchased it but my daughter really wanted this one. In looking back I believe it is because the heavily marketed it on television...and that's why it caught my daughters eye. Anyway, the screen kept going black, the website was never up..and even when it was, it was slow and you were never able to complete anything such as registering, etc... We emailed customer support and they have yet to respond to us. There is more wrong with it than this...just read the reviews. We experienced a little bit of what most people are saying. Oregon Scientific is the company that mfg this and they are not a toy or kid's electronics company....they swung hard and missed hard on this one. We returned it and all the accessories to the store and got the Nabi 2 (which is what my gut was telling me to get originally) and my 10 year old daughter could immediately see the difference. This served as a good lesson in heavy marketing does not always mean better product...and a good reminder of that for me.

We got 2 Meeps! for our 7 and 4yo for Christmas, and we've had so many problems that we are now taking them back. Website doesn't work, 'keeps timing out and no response at the website... the Meeps! don't work and like the website, they keep timing out and having had so many problems with error messages and no response when you click on things. When I thought the website was working (which was about an hour), I bought $1000 in coins (a pretty neat concept where you can dispurse virtual money on the Meeps! so your kids can buy apps/games, etc.), and I only got half for my money and it never went to the Meeps! I tried calling customer support, and it was a phone # for Blue Cross & Blue Sheild. I called the # for Oregon, the company who made them and spent an hour on the phone waiting and finally had to hang up. This can be a very cool product with some neat concepts, but in my personal opinion I think they created this but didn't have the people nor the technology to deal with the demand, which is probably now overloading the system, hence why the portal.meep site doesn't work. Don't waste your money on this, you'll regret it

I purchased this for my 5 year old for Christmas and he has not been able to use it due to the fact once it's time to confirm your email the webpage dosen't work, which it only took about 3 hours for the sign up page to work(wifi signal was excellent#.Thinking about returning it:#((((
