(Warning: my pictures contain possible spoilers!) I love my tamagotchi baby, I named him Norman and I get so excited when he grows. It's a really simple game and the mini game included is meant more for Norman's enjoyment than mine I think but that's what it's supposed to be about and I don't have any complaints on the issue. You can even mute it by holding the left button and tapping the right button together which has helped me care for him at work and public places.
Has to get my granddaughter one of these when I seen it.. I so remember her mother having one at her age .. its the same Tamagotchi we loved in the 90's..a great learning tool to teach a child responsibility... a virtual pet that needs fed, cleaned up after, and the whole nine yards.. something to try before getting them a real pet because it will let you know their responsibility level without making you the responsible one ..lol ..
I got this for my teenage daughter because we had heard of Tamagotchi's and she wanted to try it out. She liked that she could raise the pet from birth by feeding, playing, cleaning up after and disciplining it. She said it's good to take with you to dr.'s appointments or places where you have to wait. Since it's on a keychain it's easy to take with you wherever you go. She also really likes the colors and pattern, which there were a lot of different ones to chose from! Some minor cons- The controls are a little confusing at first until you get used to what each button does and have to refer back to the manual. She said if it had a light it would help her to be able to see the screen better and also to maybe play it at night. Sometimes because of it's size it is hard to see what's on the screen. All in all she really enjoys this handheld virtual pet game and we would recommend it. It's would be a good gift for kids and teens.
My 8 year old was SO excited to see this in the mail. The packaging and toy are bright and colorful. I was frustrated the minute we opened the toy as there were many, many directions in a tiny font that is very difficult to read. My daughter can read, but the way the information is printed made it impossible for her to navigate the toy on her own. It may be easier to access directions online. I helped her with understanding how to interact with the Tamagotchi and she was intrigued for a few days (it does have many features— feeding, potty, training, playing and so on), but then completely lost interest. In the era of smartphones and sophisticated game systems, this doesn't hold interest like it used to.
When I got this toy I figured it would be completely different then the one I had as a child but no it's still the same old toy, which I absolutely love. It reminds me of all the times I killed my Tamagotchi and lost it. My daughter has managed to keep up with hers. This is a great toy to teaching kids a little bit of responsibility because it constantly needs played with. Great for any age kids!
