The consistency is thinner than I expected it to be but its twice as moisturizing than I thought it would be. The smell is pleasant and it absorbs quickly without leaving any sort of film. It was moisturizing enough that I didn't need to use it daily, my hair was soft and not dry two days later.

It's been difficult to find a product which truly does what it says it will do. Africa's Best - Olive & Aloe Moisturizing Growth Lotion is one of the best products I've used in a really long time. My hair is thick, super kinky and extremely dry. No matter how many times I deep condition, by the third day it's back to being dry & brittle. You don't need much of the lotion. And if you comb it thru then sit under the dryer, my goodness! My hair still feels so soft. No need for grease, oil or butters in between. We tend to share products in my house because everyone is natural, but different textures. We shy away from those products with alcohol & nuts (someone here has a nut allergy). This is something we can all use.

I used this only my daughter's hair, and where it was dry and brittle, it was instantly moisturized. It was easy to work on the air, and made it a little easier to detangle. The only issue I had was using it on blow dried hair, it has water as a first ingredient and it will revert hair to its natural state.
