This is not made cheap & holds up well. Better than I expected for the price. Catches water my good-looking chocolate lab splashes under the silver bowl versus the floor...that means alot to me.

Our old medium-size dog was slipping when trying to eat; his balance is not good, plus he pushed the bowls all over the floor, spilling food and water in the process. This feeder got his head and body in balance, and keeps his food and water in one place. Storing the cans of food inside gives weight to the feeder. Now he doesn't slip, and the floor is clean! Wish I'd found out about this feeder years ago. It's easy to use; the feeder is in two parts. The top part fits over the bottom part - and is lowered or raised by lifting off the top, rotating it, then setting it back on the bottom. Couldn't be easier.

I bought this as a temporary bowl 6 years ago. We love it. We kept it permanently and use it for outside feeding only as Saints are so messy. Our dog lives inside but eats outside. I also learned the bowl set I wanted won't work with a Saint because their drool will take the finish off of wood. Storage is not for food, unless you don't care about your dog. I put a few bricks in mine to keep it from being pushed around or blowing over (We live in a extremely windy area.). Since Saints shouldn't eat much at each feeding the bowls work well, even if they are a bit small. We have a separate watering station.

I like the storage underneath it but it is not the easiest to put back on. And you can't choose your height very well, there's no locking grooves. Otherwise it is ok.

I've had this for 8years!! and is still in great condition! It has survived my 2 big Labs :) You just have to change the trays over the years. I gave up in storing their food here because my chocolate lab always got to it!! I use it as their chewing toy storage.
