OXO Tot Baby Food Freezer Tray - Green

I am no longer making baby food, but I tried the trays out to make ice and they work great! I wish I had these 2 years ago! I love that they have a top so you can stack them and the ice cubes come out easily. I would imagine the same would be true with baby food. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I wish we had these Oxo baby food freezer trays for our first born! We're big on making our own baby food from scratch, and we used to just use a regular ice cube tray, but those dollar-store trays left our baby food with a funky smell. These Oxo trays have a nifty lid that slides over the baby food, shielding it from freezer burn and weird smells. And plus, these trays are stackable, saving space in our packed freezer! This is a great freezer storage system for puréed baby food. I thinned some avocado for my son and froze it in the tray. They pop out of the cubes so easily! The lid isn't fully air tight so I wouldn't leave the food in the freezer for more than a couple of months, but it was more than enough to prevent the avocado from browning and taking on any funky odors. When the baby food stage is over I'll use the baby food freezer storage tray to freeze leftover chopped herbs in a bit of olive oil or water. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This baby food freezer tray is not only perfect for freezing baby food, but it also serves other purposes. I personally have used mine to freeze olive oil and herbs that I can just throw in a pan when I am ready to cook. You get two trays that have 14 spaces each. These definitely have a lot of space. It's also nice that you can stack the two trays in your freezer or when you are storing them. They are dishwasher safe as well which is always a plus. These trays may be sold to use for baby food, but you really could put anything you want in them which is why they are so great. The cubes are easy to pop out of the trays as well.
