Pacman Tamagotchi Nano - Black

i used to have one of these when i was a kid and loved playing with it! I saw this and felt like i should show it to my kids and we all play with it in the house. I feel like it teaches a little bit of responsibility as well. we all take care of our electronic pet and have fun playing pac man with it too.

I was so excited when this toy arrived. I remembered having a tamagotchi (more like several) as a kid. I was excited to share something from my childhood with my kids. The new tamagotchi was fun to play with. My kids loved the pac man theme because they were already familiar with it. They thought it was neat to have to watch it hatch and to care for it. They carried it around and played with it for a while. You have to do different things like feed the pac man and play with it to keep it alive. They had fun with it for a few days but lost interest in it and the character died. They did find it again and we reset it so they could start over. It was a fun little toy for them to play with.

I had a Tamagotchi when I was growing up in the 80's. Took it everywhere. This reimagined Pacman version is really cool. As with old version, after "hatching" your pet, you begin feeding, entertaining, and protecting it right away. I love that there are mini Pacman games, included, to keep Tamagotchi happy. The surprise ghost and bug attacks keep you on your toes! Set up, feeding, and games are super easy to handle. Care schedules are really lenient, giving the player plenty of time so you need not be tethered to the device to have fun with it - and so you don't "kill" your pet. As the growing begins, the suprise of what Tamagotchi you get, is always fun. If by chance you can't keep it "alive", there's always a reset button so you can try again. For a simple toy, this is a lot of fun. It would delight an 80's memorabilia collector, but is really a fun way to pass the time.

It started off great. Playing with it and learning how to take care of it, but my children get so easily distracted that they would leave it for a few hours, then come back to it and have to restart. Its probably great for children who can focus and hold onto it for extended periods of time. Probably also great for long car/train trips.

Setup was actually pretty easy for the kids, they didn't read the instructions initially but were able to start playing right away. I liked the sleep function, you can set the time for PAC-Man to go into a rest mode so the kids don't lose anything but you also aren't bugged to play or care for your friend. You need to feed your character and you get to choose what, of course my kids wanted cherries every time. The games are simple to play and fun, the kids didn't think it was something they wanted to do every day but they like to play on car rides to school or events. I remember playing with these as a kid myself and was happy the kids enjoyed playing too, I sneak in a game or two myself.
