Ron Howard's humorous newspaper drama The Paper comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that fails to preserve the original theatrical aspect ratio of the film. English and French soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and the English 5.1 soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include production notes, and biographies of the cast and crew. This is an inexpensive, but pedestrian release from Universal.
